Equipment Grade form
The Equipment Grade form enables you to add and edit equipment grades. Use this form to manually add equipment grades or use the Actions Copy Reference Set (on page 1) option to copy equipment grades defined in an existing entity set.
The equipment grade either indicates the general condition of the container, such as new, clean, or poor, or specifies if a container is suitable for a specific kind of cargo, such as hides, fertilizer, electronic goods, or edibles. You can create a grade as a Persistent grade or a non-Persistent grade (see step 3 below). If you define a grade as a Persistent grade, it means that N4 remembers the grade of the last visit of a container to the facility. So, if the same container revisits the facility, N4 sets the grade for the new unit facility visits (UFV), automatically.

Actions
Equipment Details form represents the grade of the container per operator. If you have two operators using the same container, each equipment status can have its own grade.
To add or edit an equipment grade:
In the ID field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies the equipment grade.
From the Equipment Class drop-down list, select the equipment class such as Container, Chassis, or Accessory for the equipment grade.
Navis recommends using the Dummy equipment class only when creating an equipment type of this class in the Equipment Type form. Although, the Dummy equipment class will be visible in the Equipment Class drop-down list in equipment related forms, it must not be used.
Optionally, select the Persistent check box if you want the equipment to retain the equipment grade for subsequent visits.
If the Persistent check box is selected, when you update the grade for a unit, the change is reflected in all the existing unit facility visits (UFV) for the unit. The change is to the unit, therefore, it is also reflected in the Grade ID field in the Equipment Status view (on page 1).
If the Persistent check box is not selected, when you update the grade for a unit, N4 updates the grade only for the selected UFV. The grade for any new UFVs created for the unit is set as null unless the user specifies a Grade while creating the new specified UFV.
In the Description field, enter a short description of the equipment grade.
Click Save.
In the edit mode, additional read-only fields are displayed that provide information about the user who created or last modified the equipment grade and the date and time the equipment grade was created or last modified.
